Supress Warnings

I am having clients complaining about the pop-up and sound that occurs when they have a virus in email, file, etc.

Is there a way to supress that action from the client and do the recommended task? In other words - nothing is displayed to the end-user.

Thanks,
Shane

Sure. Customize the Resident Protection task.
It depends on what exactly does the message show. There are multiple controls that can be customized. Basically each provider has its own private settings, and some even have two (namely the mail providers, one for “virus found” and one for “suspicious message” - i.e. popups from the heuristics module)

Is it the “suspicious message” dialog?

Vlk,

What I am wanting to do is this:

When an email arrives with a virus - I want to automatically move it to the chest and disable any interaction on the workstation. The client does not want to hear or see anything, they just want the virus removed.

How exactly is this achieved for the entire group?

Shane

As I said, this is done by modifying the Resident Protection task that’s associated with the computer group.

The actual change depends on which mail provider they’re using (Internet Mail or Outlook/Exchange). Or you can do it for both, if you don’t know.

On the provider’s Virus page, select the action you want to take (e.g. “Move2Chest IF-FAILS Delete”). Also, on the Heuristic page, select “Silent mode” to prevent displaying of the “Suspicious message” warnings…

Thanks
Vlk
