You probably have a trojan installed that Avast! is not detecting. The trojan may be sending out an excessive number of spam emails (using the fake name Peegy) and Avast! is detecting this behaviour.
Best advice is to run an online scan using one of the many available scanners to see if another antivirus product detects the trojan. If it does, please submit the file found to Avast! for analysis. The signatures will be updated and it can be removed from your machine.
You most probably have an undetected trojan spambot on your system.
What is your firewall ?
That may be able to detect unauthorised outbound connections.
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode.
