Avast just found suspicious file whtle I was reorganizing files on my system…it was an ISO image, what I am sure is clean. Avast poped up to delete, move to chest or to block. I wanted to keep the file so I thought choosing block will keep it. But it is no more in the folder. The file isnt in the virus chest too.
Is the file gone? Can I have it back?
I use Win7 Pro
hey and welcome to the forum. if I’m remember correct any suspicious file will be run in the avast sandbox. so check there.
open Avast UI>>SECURITY>>ANTIVIRUS>>FILE SYSTEM SHIELD>>SETTINGS>>AUTO SAND BOX

no, there is nothing. Just option to exclude file. I use version 7
hey agian. this was strange. try download the file agian.

It was years on my system, since I was “detected” now and was removed 
I have luckyly a beckup of it but I add it to the exclusions and dont want to play with it anymore.
But the question is in general, what happens in this case
hello again. Yes your case has been strange indeed. but it should be ok now sens you made avast ignore the file.
but of interest what file pattern has the file in question? if it needs to be investigated further.

hey again. do you remember from where you got this ISO file? it could have been something in the file avast did not like.
it was got from some MS dowlnload page, couse it was addition to a MS product. So it is reliable source. From this page i got other ISO files but Avast promped only this one
