there are two suspicious files on my PC not detected by AVAST but reported by “360 total security” as “HEUR/QVM03.0.Malware.Gen” and “HEUR/QVM42.1.Malware.Gen”. The files are drivers for an USB device. About a year ago, my PC was infected after installed one of these driver (I did a complete restore of the system because it was completly infected and there was no way to repair it).
Is there a way to upload the suspected file for an accurate analysis ?
Here is the report: FILE1:
Type:
HEUR/QVM03.0.Malware.Gen
The results do not indicate any infections, but I still not trust it at all.
However I’m not using multiple AV in my system, I’ve a PC with AVAST running and another PC (windows XP) where AVAST didn’t install ( see Ticket ID: 142216 ) , so I use a free antivirus there.
The USB device I’m talking about was not a disk but something similar to a mouse.
Question: Do I need MCShield even if AVAST Premier is running on my PC ? Don’t AVAST protect from infected USB keys?

No security program have 100% detection or zero false positives
MCShield is a special tool that only target those malware types that use removable device to spread
It only scan root of the drive, so when you plug in a full 1TB disk the scan only takes seconds, the storaged files is a job for your AV to scan
all regular forum users here use it, and this forum section is full of solved cases where the malware removal team have cleaned infected drives with it. The program use no system resources as it is dormant untill a USB device is plugged in, then it pops up, scan (and clean if anything is found) and goes to sleep again
