Suspiciuos files found

Hi, and thanks for the earlier advice regarding using 2 anti virus on the same pc.

Have removed Microsoft Security Essentials as advised but still keep getting the same message as described in my other post. Well not always the same but very similar. Documents/ all users/ settings/ application/data/ ect, ect ect.

Would be grateful again for any advice.

Also, could anybody tell me if its a serious problem. Its been sugested to remove Avast and go back M S E. Could it be that Avast is finding what some people call a false positive.

Thanks again

Eddie

Let Essexboy have a look inside to find out....

Follow this guide from our expert malware remover Essexboy

(post the logs here in this topic and not in the guide)

To avoid using multiple post with copy and paste you have to attach the log`s
Lower left corner: Additional Options > Attach ( OTL.Txt. / Extras.Txt.)

Whist waiting for essexboy to join the forums, what are these suspicious files, e.g. file name and location ?

Would have been nice to have the information contained in the one topic.

Given the information in that topic this is MSE unencrypted signature update related and or if this is anti-rootkit scan related which seems the case, then it is the hidden process of MSE that is considered suspicious. So as has been stated in the other topic having two resident AVs installed is not advised and likely to result in conflict and this is one such area of potential conflict.

So given that I’m not sure if it even needs this topic (should have remained in the original topic). If as recommended MSE is completely removed, avast should no longer detect this MSE related item. But it looks like there are still remnants of MSE left behind, so I don’t know how MSE was removed.
