Last night after I set up my remote rdp into my schools programming virtual machine I received a warning from avast about a rootkit: svc: WinRing Rootkit: hidden service. I deleted it. After that I rebooted and set it to do a high sensitivity boot scan. I scanned all of my storage devices and the system. I had my two other systems a server desktop and a laptop scan also. Everything came up clean. Right now I’m running an ESET free online scan to see if that turns anything up. I’ll let you know if it finds anything.
