svcipa.exe problem

hello guys, please help me out as i’m not good in removing viruses. pc is infected with spcipa.exe and dont know how to remove it. it was detected by AVG av 7.5 but it did not remove it. Prevx 2 did find 3 files and one of them was Trojan.Lozyt and removed it. But i’m still having problems. AVG is detecting system files as virus/spyware too. Uninstalled and re-installed AVG but still same problem. AVG also detecting Avast files as virus/malware. i’m posting Hijack this file and please let me know whats the problem and how to resolve it. Many thanks

Before dealing with these can you send copies of undetected infected files to avast.

Send the sample to virus@avast.com zipped and password protected with password in email body and undetected malware in the subject.

Or you can also add the file to the User Files (File, Add) section of the avast chest where it can do no harm and send it from there (select the file, right click, email to Alwil Software). No need to zip and PW protect when the sample is sent from chest. A copy of the file/s will remain in the original location, so any further action you take can remove that.

There is no HJT file attached, but it is best to post the contents of the file as we don’t have to download it to view it. It may need to be done over two or more posts if it is a big log file.

What is the infected file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?

You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner I feel virustotal is the better option as it uses the windows version of avast (more packers supported) and there are currently 30 different scanners.
Or Jotti - Multi engine on-line virus scanner if any other scanners here detect them it is less likely to be a false positive.

Does what I put in bold in your quotation above mean you are using both anti-virus services on your computer? If this is true, then this may have contributed to your computer getting infected. It is not recommended to run 2 resident av services on a computer. This will cause less protection as more than one av will “fight” over controlling/deleting the virus … therefore, neither will do the proper job.

Please answer this so we can offer farther help to you.

Hello Charlyo, yes i’m using both on the same machine, and believe me they both worked fine without any problem. this problem appeared when i downloaded/installed BitComet Turbo Accelerator, since then started having problems.

No, they’re not.
They will conflict, sooner or later… You can even lose the possibility of boot/login. If I were you I’ll uninstall one of them as soon as possible and boot.

Unfortunately, you did not know you had a problem until something went wrong. What went wrong was you got an infected computer because the 2 av services “fighting” could not control the infection. Most likely, the infection came through the use of the recent download. When using programs like BitComet, you need to be very careful with what you download.

Thanks for the info, i have Un-installed Avast leaving AVG av and AVG anti spyware. what am i suppose to do now, how can i get rid of this problem? There is another problem and if anyone has solution to it please guide me.

I can not boot in to safe mode by pressing F8. on boot up pressing F8 takes me to page with few other options (safe mode, start in normal mode, start with command prompt etc etc) so when the timer goes to zero or i chose to go into safe mode it brings me back to the same page over and over each time i click on safe mode. In other words it will not take me into safe mode.
Now the thing is if i do as said by the topic starter edit Boot.ini file in XP then it will take me into loop forever which means i’ll not be able to start windows in normal mode neither it will go to safe mode. i have already tried it. SO HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SOLUTION TO IT HOW I GO INTO SAFE MODE ??
ADDITIONAL INFO: I HAVE 200GB OF HD without any partition, but i formatted the full HD in FAT32. Would this be the cause of problem not getting to safe mode ?

Processor: intel 2.8Mhz, mem:1Gb OS: Win XP pro HD: 200GB

Did you change boot.ini file?
When does this happen? After uninstalling one of the antivirus?

No. System file won’t be a problem here?

aleem, if this is also your thread at computing.net you are already receiving very good help

It’s best not to try to combine advice given from two different forums as it can lead to unexpected, sometimes undesirable results.

It appears that no one there noticed the 2 av services running in the HJT logs. ::slight_smile:
