Symantec now offers Daily Updates

IF you use Norton ANtivirus 2006 or Symantec antivirus Corporate 10.x, you have a feature called LiveUpdate Plus which applies daily updates, all prior version still only get weekly updates

This is diffrent from the intelligent updater which you must manually download and install

But it still is a huge resource hog and causes many errors on many systems

I know eddy I just wanted to point it out

Finally. It was about time to do that. I mean weekly updates in these days? No thanks.
But this way they really seem to finally improve from that crappy version 2004.

Now we have to ensure people get rid of another Norton element (Live Update Plus) when they finally try to uninstall NAV and jump ship to avast! ;D

Fully agree! 8)
NAV? No thanks, I’m not crazy ;D

ya,
Norton Antivirus…
I was playing a multiplayer game online and i was in the “wild”, where you can kill other players and where other players can kill you, and NAV keeps popping up with its “alerts”
like:
tribalfusion banner is waiting for a scan,
optscan.exe is waiting for a scan,

it lagged my dial-up and…
i died in the game

what i don’t understand is that why does it always say the following:?
“etc, etc” is waiting for a scan
“blah, blah” is waiting for a scan
" this and that " is waiting for a scan
“this item” is waiting for a scan

i mean , do it , don’t tell me and pop up with annoying messages

cheers,
tim

Are you using NAV?
Why don’t you set it to not show this messages?

what i don't understand is that why does it always say the following:? "etc, etc" is waiting for a scan "blah, blah" is waiting for a scan " this and that " is waiting for a scan "this item" is waiting for a scan

i mean , do it , don’t tell me and pop up with annoying messages

Is that the reason why you switch to avast! antivirus? Or are you still using Norton?

I’m actually happy that Norton offers daily updates along with McAfee, actually I’m more happy with McAfee with daily updates cause I use to get 1 or 2 updates per month which can be very dangerous since viruses are always growing . That is why I switch to avast!

Symantec company and their buggy, resource-eating products was, is and will remain the the worst nightmare of mine computer. ;D

I hate NAV; and when I changed to Avast, it took me a whole of time to get rid of all of norton´s registry/files/crap. I finally had to format my pc ./
A friend of mine ended up with the same problem.
NAV = its very good to: slow down your PC; corrupt your registry; consume your time into puting your pc into one piece again!
