What operating system? What version of Avast?

Thanks for the response. The Avast version is 21.8.2487 (build 21.8.6586.696) and I’m on Windows 10 21h1.

Here’s the first thing to try.

Repair Avast:
Open the Avast User Interface > Menu > Settings > Troubleshooting > Repair App. > Restart the Computer or,
Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed

Thanks for your help. I just did that and will wait and see if it works. Wish me luck. ;D

If not, I’d still like to know what you used before Avast One and, how it was removed.

I was previously using Bitdefender. I used their removal tool in safe mode and I ccleaned after that. The crashes produced stop errors but I never got a bsod, just a reboot. Still no crashes since using the repair thingy.
