We have avast! Small Office Administration v1.2.2.28 with db version 1450 installed.
When we open the console and go into the Summary tab / Dashboard… the System Overview section is blank, the Statistics section says “No data available”, the Virus Definition Status is blank, and all the client computers in the Network tab have a question mark even though they are all up.
We tried completely uninstalling the console from the server, and then installing the latest version of 1.2.2.28, but still the problem persists. The clients are being updated properly, and they have the latest VPS and virus definitions. If we delete a client from the console, the client gets detected, but again the console has no information of the status. What gives?
Check if the port 25322 is open on your firewall and try to ping/nslookup both the DNS name and the IP address of the management server.
The contents of the avastNet.log file could help you identifying the problem.
I really wish this forum sent an e-mail whenever a thread you’ve started has been updated. >:(
Avosec-UK, thank you for your suggestion regarding port 25322. After twiddling with this for a long time, Avast! Small Office Administration (updated to v1.2.2.28) began getting updates from several clients. I compared the Avast! User Interface settings of these two clients with the ones that were failing to send data, and I discovered the cause of this issue.
In Settings → Troubleshooting → Avast! Administration Console, the “Server name/IP” field contained erroneous information. I corrected this on all the machines (including verifying that port 25322 was specified as well) and now everything seems to be working as designed.
