I needed to do a system restore this morning and noticed that my last restore point was when I updated avast. Does avast turn off system restore or change the settings?
No it doesn’t turn off system restore, the same I guess would be the same for changing settings.
I have had system restore disabled for many years now as I don’t think it reliable enough to ‘rely’ on. But you have to have an alternative to replace it with, I use drive imaging software, which can make an exact image of your drive, partition, etc. I run it weekly.
