As far as the win32.banuris worm goes, I truly can’t find much about it on any of the major AV sights: Kaspersky, McAfee, Computer Associates or Symantec.
File sharing networks often embed such worms to facilitate the transfer of files automatically, and thus Avast acts upon it as a “non commanded” program…in simple terms, a virus.
