System unsecured - cannot start AVAST

Hi,

This morning when starting my laptop (Win7 Ultimate, avast v6.0.1367) AVAST is nto starting.
Current status is UNSECURED, with the software turned of or in an insecure state. I tried to uninstall it and can’t do that either, - I get a message saying
ERROR READING PRODUCT DATA FROM "C:\PROGRAM FILES\ALWIL SOFTWARE\AVAST5\SETUP". SETUP CANNOT CONTINUE

I had to do a system rollback to the state I last used the computer (a couple fo days ago) for some reason as it would not start up. Now the compter starts btu avast is giving me problmes.

Can you help or does anyone have similar experiences?

I tried that link before.
that is where i get the error i mention (data can’t be found etc)
so i never get to the pop up menotined in step 4
