Hi guys,
I have just updated to the latest version. After downloading and installing Avast asked me to reboot the system (Win7 ultimate 64-bit). After rebooting the Win7 boot screen appeared as usual, then it disappeared (as it should) and the screen went to the desktop background. Nothing else is happening.
Is this a known issue? I can boot in safe mode (i am in it while writing this message).
Please help!
regards,
v.
addendum: after booting in safe mode and rebooting normally: the screen hung at the win7 boot screen.

What other security software do you have on your system?

comodo firewall, that’s all

What if you uninstall it while you are in safe mode? and restart to normal mode.

uninstall what? Comodo?
I should not be uninstalling software to update other software?

Ya try uninstalling comodo. We just want to find out whether its a conflict between the two thats all. You can later install it back.

ok, I went to control panel->remove software->double click avast->update to latest version.
I rebooted and I can log in again.
Possibly an error with the update process?

We never know… Is comodo defense+ installed? Probably it wouldn’t have allowed the setup process to completely successfully? Its pretty hard to guess from here…

Hi,
I have the same symptoms, unable to boot-up in Win7_64bit using COMODO firewall only.
and I have uninstall the avast under Win7 safe mode and Win7 reboot OK !
Is it a fresh install of avast better than a updates ? ???

As nmb said ! is defence+ installed ? you might have to install avast first then comodo with only the firewall ticked.
