I have a peculiar problem I’m hoping someone here knows about.
My relatively new laptop is running Vista. When I start up, the mouse can run programs from the desktop, but not from the Quick Launch Bar or the Start button. Once the program runs, and appears on the Task Bar, it stops working.
The really odd thing is that if I press ctrl-alt-del, it takes two clicks to launch the Task Manager (first time nothing happens), then it switches back into Windows and everything works. I don’t have to do anything with the Task Manager, just close it.
Sometimes it happens when I’m working in applications too - possibly in ones running as adminstrator, but I’m not sure. I keep thinking it has to do with administrator access.
We’ve checked with Avast and Malwarebytes - no varmints.
Any ideas?
