Task Manager Entries

Hi, can anyone tell me how to find out what the following mean in my Task Manager and if I need them running?

www.Disp.exe
prnsys.exe
type32.exe
ps2.exe
alg.exe

thanks…

psssttttt ever heard of GOOGLE?

PrnSys.exe, Print screen utility bundled with some HP printer software - not required to be loaded at boottime

type32.exe provides configuration access to Microsoft’s Office Keyboard - not required to be loaded at boottime

ps2.exe is an application that provides configuration options for additional keys on Hewlett Packard multimedia keyboards.

alg.exe is a part of the Microsoft Windows operating system. It is a core process for Microsoft Windows Internet Connection sharing and Internet connection firewall.

Thank you Eddy, I just wasn’t sure what to look for, do you think that the error message I sometimes get “McAfee Firewall cannot access shared memory area” on startup is related to alg.exe? As sometimes I have to reboot to reset the firewall? Just a thought…I am trying to learn honest… ;D

I just wasn't sure what to look for
Just type in the name of the file in Google and you will get a lot of results. But be carefull from what sites you accept the information. Some aren't giving you the correct info. Sites like liutilities, iamnotageek and 2-spyware are very trustfull and acurate with the information. But others may not be.

If you find things with HijackThis and want to know about them… Use my HJT log analyzer, it is not perfect nor does it recognize everything, but everything it is recognizing is personally checked by me. And after releasing (about) 35 versions of it, there where only two things that where recognized wrong. Also have a look at the HJT section at my website. It has (links to) a lot of usefull information.

About the firewall:
It looks like a problem with the firewall itself. There should be no reason why rebooting is resetting the firewall. Perhaps remove it, reboot and reinstall (and setup again ofcourse) may solve the problems.

Thanks loads…havn’t plucked up the courrage to try Hijack yet
