TBird, no note in inbound from gmail..... ("solved")

Just installed Avast. When I send an email from my gmail account to my hosted site email addy, it says

avast! (VPS 081020-0, 10/20/2008), Inbound message clean

[s]when I send an email from my hosted site email to gmail, I don’t, so I am guessing it is not scanning inbound gmail.

What am I doing wrong?

scratch that. it’s ssl, and google scans them anyway so I’ll forget it.

First of all, it’s not possible because Gmail uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connections. Avast mail scanner doesn’t support SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connections. But take a look here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=10428.0 to see how to set up secure email with avast!.
