First, thanks for a great program, you guys do a marvelous job.
Next, I had to do a format and reinstall of my OS and programs.
My question is the temp folder “_av_sfx.tm~a00624” was created when I reinstall Avast. Can I safely delete this folder? Most of the files in the folder are VPU files, a SETUP file, a OVR file and a DEF file.
These seem to be duplicates of files in the C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup folder.
You should be able to safelt delete any folder in a temp folder but I’m not familliar with this folder, what was the full path to it ?
The only avast temp folder is C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Tempavast4 that avast uses to unpack files to be scanned. I have deleted this in the past when clearing out rubbish and when/if required avast recreated it.
If so, it won’t harm if you delete it.
The repair option of the Control Panel applet does not need the existence of this folder. You just need to be connected to Internet to repair your installation.
