temp internet files

I have several things in my temp internet file that I can not delete. I had 3 viruses that I believe that I have deleted but I still can’t seem to get this 11 “cache” files out of my temp folder. Does any one have any suggestions on what I should do? I going crazy tring to figure this out! Thanks

Hi and welcome
Have you tried deleting them as administrator in “safe mode”?
this is usually my last resort option for difficult files and works almost always.

Get CCleaner and CleanUp!
They will remove it.

I can’t lose the opportunity to recommend a very good file handler.
Delete FXP Files: http://www.jrtwine.com/Products/DelFXPFiles/
It’s very powerful for ‘on-access’ problem, NTFS meta data mismatch, etc. etc.
You can use for free to delete 5 files each time. If you pay, no limit.

Hi helplessin,

Check you have no suspicious processes running from these locations. Process Explorer from SysInternals is good. Highlight the process and the program will show you where it’s running from. If it’s a temp file, the process is very probably malware. HijackThis! will tell you if the process is known, unknown or malware. Research unknown processes on Google. Fix any known malware of course, and anything with an unrecognised filename running from a temp file- malware filenames are sometimes random.

I’ve seen CCleaner fail to delete temp files while Trojans are running from them. Cleaning up any remaining malware may allow you to delete them.
