I’m trying to install the latest version of Dropbox; they recommend shutting off Avast before installation. Short of removing and reinstalling Avast, is there any way to turn Avast off and on

I don’t know why they would recommend shutting avast down, did they say ?

I never have for my installation of dropbox.
I rather doubt that it wouldn’t install if you didn’t stop avast.
