Terminating Avast and boot-time scan ? SOLVED

Sometimes I need terminating Avast for a certain periode of time. I use terminate and persist the changes for the providers.

After a reboot I then observed that the windows boot-time scan for rootkits was running after
the usual 8 minutes. Is this by design or a bug?

Edit: Marked as Solved

It is by design.

The anti-rootkit scan is an integral part of avast 4.8 (separate from any providers) and is set to run 8 minutes after boot this allows time for other applications to load without getting in the way and also no point in starting it too soon as a rootkit might not be established. You can disable this from running on boot if you wish, Program Settings, Troubleshooting, section.

Thx.

Yes, I know about the setting you mention.
Just for information: You have to reboot once to stop the anti-rootkit at next windows boot.

Thanks, I thought having disabled it that it wouldn’t run on the next boot.

Really? I thought in the immediate next boot it won’t scan. Are you saying you need to disable, boot, and only in the 2nd boot it will work?

Yes, Tech I can confirm that.

I got a bit surprised because the log showed that the boot-time scan had been perfomed
in the middle of something I not wished to be interrupted (by Avast).

A bit comic because I had first terminated Avast providers and thought that sufficient to stop this
scan as you can see from my first post.

Yes, but I’ve thought you haven’t a problem, just pointing out an old thread…
Do you have any problem? Can we help? What is it exactly?

Tech, please jump to the thread in question.

Done
