Terraria false positive

Hi, I’m new to the forums and needed some help. I installed a game called Terraria (some of you may have heard of it) from Steam and Avast is not allowing me to launch it. On launch it moves the executable to the chest and I know for 100% this isn’t a virus. I didn’t install anything new or different from online, and it wasn’t even doing this earlier today. Help is appreciated.

(Also, sorry if this is in the wrong place, I’m new to the forums. :stuck_out_tongue: )

You did correct. ..... viruses an worms forum section is the place for virus and false positive problems

Is there a message from avast! … if so, what does it say?
You may post a screenshot

It seems that my problem resolved itself. I replaced the executable with a previous version and it worked again. Thanks and I’ll post again if the problem seems to reoccur.

I have this same issue. The current version of Avast does not like the 1.3.0.4 version of Terraria.exe and wiped it out. Avast never had an issue with my Terraria 1.3.0.3 and lower version. And now that Steam is up to 1.3.0.5, Avast is ok with that version. Unfortunately, the GOG version is still 1.3.0.4, so I can’t use that version with Avast right now. Hopefully GOG gets that pushed out today. But Avast might want to inspect 1.0.3.4 and add it to a whitelist.
