Test The Load Time Of This Site For Me and The Browser/OS Used

Hi Avast,

Can someone please check the load time of this site below:

twcableuntangled.com

I am running IE 8 and Windows XP (SP-3) Avast 5 seemed to scan this site faster than Avast 6. What analysis of the site may show the longer load time in version 6? This is like the only site where version 6 acts a bit slower in it’s scan than version 5.

Note that I am not reporting a problem here. I am just requesting a site assessment with Avast. Could it be that the Web Shield is doing more? What does the Web Shield do in Avast 6, that it did not do in version 5?

FYI I have the Sandbox on Auto.

It only took IE9 on my pc only seconds to load with avast 6 ;D

~1.4 seconds

The loads of flash (blocked thanks to Chrome’s click to play plugin functionality) and the pink cup cake fill me with the urge to vomit. Otherwise, kinda normal load time (2-3 secs) with the flash stuff disabled, Adblock Plus enabled and Ghostery blocking all that Facebook and Google Analytics crap. Lot worse otherwise, mostly caused by the FB and GA junk.

On a semi-related note: http://pagespeed.googlelabs.com/

The pictures and site come up right away, but it takes about 15-20 seconds to actually scroll.

Yea, I think Dok found the culprit.

Not here. (NS/ABP)

Yeah, b/c you are missing the Facebook/Google “coolness” due to blocked JS. ;D

And I’m happy about that. ;D 8)

Thanks everyone,

I sent TWC that page speed suggestions link in a feedback e-mail, so will will see if they can change that site around with the suggestions provided to make the page load a little better. This is the second updated revision of that page, and it continues to be a work in progress, so we’ll see.

Thanks for checking out the site and giving the suggestions!

Google Chrome with AdBlock takes under 5 seconds. Lots of stuff on that page.

I did a retest of the load and it only took IE9 with ActiveX filtering and Tracking protection on 2 seconds to load the whole webpage
