My sincere thanks to Alwil, and especially Vojtech, for their help!
I waited a few days to make sure I had downloaded the patch properly, and everything was working before I posted that my internet mail provider is now working. Avast! is set up to my specs, and running the way it was meant to be…
There are no more problems with the internet mail provider not starting, or only starting after “jumping through hoops” to get it started.
Thank you also, Walker and Technical, for your assistance. I deeply appreciate your efforts!
Technical, this is a copy of the email I received from support…
the new version will work even with the autostart key in registry. You can
test it by downloading this patch:
Stop the Internet Mail provider, terminate ashMaiSv.exe in Task Manager
if it is running
download /4.6.623/ashMaiSv.zip and extract its
contents to the avast folder (overwrite ashMaiSv.exe - it shouldn’t be
locked thanks to 1.)
3.start the Internet Mail provider
I did not include the complete link in case it was not applicable to any other users and did not want to create problems for someone if it did not apply to their systems and they tried downloading it.
