I have spent so many years using a cumbersome, resource hogging AV, that I eventually got so fed up with it and changed to Avast. The difference is unbelievable.
I have now had Avast for only 3 weeks, but it has performed magnificently without my knowing it is there. Automatic updating with my previous AV, took 6-7 minutes and absorbed all my resources such that I had to stop work until it was finished and this frequently happened when I first logged on. Avast updates completely anonymously with no such problems.
So I must sincerely thank Avast for being such a fine, user-friendly and efficient program which operates without any disruptions whatsoever.
Avast also provides an excellent Email protection.
I sure do miss the crumble. AVG updated twice per day, usually when I came out of Standby, completely drained my tank and stopped me working for around 5-6 minutes, I had to sit and grow older until it finished.
Avast updates without me even knowing, is doing a splendid job and we are getting on just fine.
I did post the matter on the AVG Forum, but the AVG Forum is as useful as a lead balloon, I got no reply.
While I am talking to all you lovely people, can I ask what the tray icon is doing when it is spinning round and what it is not doing when it is static ?
Silly question I know, presumably it is doing something when spinning, but doing what ?
