I had the misfortune of receiving one of the “metropolitan police” trojans - the one where if i pay £100 it will be unlocked! I contacted friends, got lots of information, looked through everything (fortunately only main pc was infected not laptop). So this morning, with some trepidation, I switched pc on expecting to see “metropolitan police” etc, and there was my avast sorting everything out for me - complete scan, (twice just to be sure), trojan locked in chest and back in the saddle.
