Just wanted to thank (officially) to the generous Alwil team for being so kind to provide me with Pro license for the last year. It is about to expire soon (in September) and I had a wonderful time checking it and learning about all those cool features. Time to go back to Home version.
Special Thanks goes to Mr.Eda Kucera ! I will never forget your kindness. I remember you told me how much you appreciate all those skins I did for our beloved avast!, but nothing can be really compared to the generous offer I received from you people. Really amazing team !
It was great while it lasted, but I also strongly believe that Home Version will keep my system as good protected as my Pro version used to do. My father is still on Home Version (for the last 2 years), and since the very first day I installed it on his machine, he never ever had any single problem with viruses or anything for that matter.
THANKS ALWIL !
P.S. What’s happening with VLK ? Haven’t heard from him in a while…
No, no… it was more than enough, I had quite some time to play with Pro version. It’s really time to go back to the Home Version. The only thing that I’m really going to miss is Script Blocker and maybe Push Updates. Other than that, I really didn’t need anything else that Pro Version has to offer.
I am 100% sure, Home version will do its job as effective as Pro used to do. I also hope it’s at least a little bit lighter on the system resources, hehe… ;D
Nothing really, but when i said lifetime i meant lifetime of avast! pro anti-virus- not locked away somewhere…
No harm intended-with the world nowdays-humor no matter how silly or stupid it is- makes the world seem a little bit better. :D.
Thanks, certainly it’s nice to hear something like that… although I don’t think that was anything that special. I just did what I love to do, and I hope results are ok.
I had few extra minutes on my hands and I came up with this avatar for you. In case you don’t like it, just disregard it… as I always say… trash can is so close on our desktops, hehe ;D ;D ;D
EDIT: BTW, avatar can be seen in its full speed if you use Firefox or some other browser. IE has some well known issues with animated gifs as well as with transparent channels for PNG files. Try viewing this avatar in both browsers and you’ll see the difference.
it is kind of slow in opera 9 on my end here too…i guess a question…is there a program i can reduce my avatar(the jumping guys)with so it won’t be so big over there on the left side :o
I don’t know about Opera because I don’t use it, but I believe it’s true what you’re saying. It looks like Opera deals with animated gifs exactly the same way as IE does. Don’t get me wrong, there are no noticeable problems with “normal”, small phisical size gifs, but when you have something massive like this (225 frames, means 255 little images inside the animation), then those two don’t deal with animated gifs too good. I’ve noticed that Firefox doesn’t have problems with animated gifs of any size. Same goes for my drawing application where I create all those gifs… speed is exactly the same as it is when previewed in Firefox.

Of course there is… any drawing utility or GFX editing program that can deal with animated gifs can do that. The problem is I don’t see your old avatar anymore… it is replaced by the one with Garfield.
Post that picture again, and I will resize it for you… NOTE: Please, do not expect to see exactly the same sharpness when picture is resized. Because you have some very small objects inside that animation (even when it’s in its original size), and when I resize it, it is natural that some of those details will be lost. But, I promise I will give my best to try to keep it as good looking as possible.
Cheers !
EDIT: Same story with Garfield avatar… I did some changes and here is how it looks now. It is 100 x 100 pixels large, and I added that black square around it… also, I added few more “smoke” lines for better effect. ;D
thanks s.z.craftec for re-doing the avatar-my favorite cartoon character after bugs buggy
I already deleted the guys jumping avatar and i like the garfield one ““better””
been trying to found something, after awhile got tired of looking at a picture of my laptop and the spec’s in the profile…so had to found a temporary in the meantime…would like something to honor avast! but i don’t know how to make stuff like you do(which you do great!)
i also use netscape 8.1 browser and no animated gifs issues on it no-matter what size
I believe Netscape uses the Gecko engine(Mozilla) but i also think you can switch to the Trident engine(IE) if you want(which i am sure you don’t in most cases ;D ) .
You could try to switch to Trident engine and then look at the same avatar just to see the difference … It’s really slow motion …
