You should have only one resident antivirus installed on your computer as two will conflict.

If you want to keep avast! run the Norton removal tool, SymNRT, available here

and then manually remove any remaining traces.

If you would rather keep Norton then uninstall avast! in Add/Remove programs and use the avast! uninstaller

After doing one of those you should try the free version of A-Squared to rid yourself of the dialer
