Hi all, just to say how helpful this Forum is.Ive actually told a couple of friends about the free Avast Software.
They are already using paid for programmes but the updates end soon,so told them Avast is totally free and just as good.
Cant remember exactly what site I went on the other day but I got a warning voice up saying some sort of nasty was present,I just clicked off it…And before you all GASP…DODGY SITE,it was a general info site about Los Angeles where a friend lives.
This must say then that virus’s live on websites as well as attachments? ???
This is one of the most common means of getting infected now, visiting sites that you believe to be legit/safe (not a term that means much now) that have been hacked and either malicious software or redirects to run malicious software, just from visiting the hacked page.
Thanks…In my limited knowledge of spyware and virus’s Im puzzled as to what exactly these people get out of doing it,aside from such virusy things where they gain financial details like credit card etc,but im talking your everyday virus stuff like slowing your computer down or along them lines?
Yeah even my mum don’t know how to use a computer.
She says that it is possible and that some of them are like that^^
Haha she is incredible in things.
lol isn’t karpersky or Symantec like this(So incredible score)
Mysteries
That is how rumours develop into myths, by the stupidity of spreading the rumour far and wide. Rumours should never be spread, especially on a security related web site, which is open to all. Before you know it some idiot is saying that on the X antivirus web site they say blah, blah, blah and you know the rest.
I also suggest you modify your post (edit it all and replace with Removed, etc.) aside from being off-topic it is effectively perpetuating the rumour.
