Q: That little alert box that pops up in the lower right corner of my desktop tells me everytime that there is a problem with the update download.
So, I go right to my AVAST skin and update it there. Each time it tells me my update is up to date and I see something that looks like the words Jolly Roger on the screen for a few seconds.
Why am I getting notice that there is a problem with the auto update?
What do you suggest I do? ???
Thanks in advance!

Please provide more information like:
What version of Avast?
What vps version do you have now?
What operating system?
Any errors in Avast’s log file?
Have you already used the search function on this board?
There are many threads with possible causes/solutions.

No errors in log file (hopefully I’m looking in the right place)
Is the update always called “Jolly Roger” something???

Check the two files called notice.log and error.log. Are you sure they have no error(s) in them?

Yup, let's call it a Joly Joke from the people at Alwill ;D

Oh wow! Now I’m REALLY gonna embarrass myself.
Ready?
So, where do I find notice. log and error. log?
Remember, you are dealing with someone who is probably fighting early onset dementia!
Be gentle!
I am going to send you some pictures of my screen.
Now wait a minute while I figure out how to do this.
10 minutes later: Ah, t’heck with it. I’m too tired to figure this out. I’m goin’ to bed. :-\

Hi Nana2,
In the example below I have used ( ) brackets, if I use the correct square brackets you wont be able to see the explanation brackets.
The URL (photobucketimagelink) needs to be contained between image tags (img)imageurl(/img).
If you look at the Icons above the Message: window, the 4th from the left is the insert image tag, click this and it will paste (img)(/img) tags where your cursor is positioned in the message window. Paste your URL for the image in photobucket between the )( and this should do it.
