The Bitdefender usb was infected

I should have known not to re-plug in my old usb but I stupidly did. I had assumed that my Bitdefender rescue usb was secure but it was not. I found that I could not move my cursor or type in the password at the screen.

Now I have uninstalled & reinstalled my system the first thing I noticed is that Google Chrome would not open, then I saw a greenish/yellowish Windows loading bar after a restart. If I boot up normally then I fear that I may not be able to control my cursor or click things. Currently I am in safe mode with networking so I have not run a FRST scan yet.

Would it make any difference if I attempted to use a empty usb to re-flash my bios since I am infected and I want to regain control of the mouse and login functions?

follow instructions here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
we need Malwarebytes and Farbar Recovery Scan Tool logs, attach the logs, 3 logs total

see below the box you write in … Attachments and other options

Then scroll down to … SPECIFIC INFECTIONS LOGS
Follow MCShield instructions … this log you copy and paste here

a malware expert will then assist you when online

MCShield says "Warning: E drive is read only. Use Scan With MCShield in the context menu to disregard this and scan the drive.

I right clicked for a scan and there is a MCShieldDS.exe write protect error. The disk cannot be written to because it is write protected. Please remove write protection from the volume RESCUE DISC in drive E. All three buttons do not work cancel, try again and continue.

Right click your E drive and scan with MCShield

=> The drive is clean.

Now wait for a malware expert to assist you

No malware present, you may be looking at hardware problems

Understood but briefly can you explain what could cause a screen freeze at the login? Would it be a faulty bios?

Are you using a USB keyboard and mouse ?

If so is USB enabled in the BIOS

My mouse uses a WIFI usb and my keyboard is connected to my computer. They are working properly now and I am not sure about the USB enabled BIOS, I will go check that.
