The browser gest stuck and there is no way to kill the process from the task manager

Hi,
I am running the latest version of Avast browser (Versión 137.0.30674.104 (Build oficial) (64 bits)) on windows 10, and for the first time yasterday
the browser got stuck all of a sudden (there were many tabs open) and when I tried to kill the browser’s process through the task manager, it just didn’t work.
How can I kill the process? is there anyway to do this without restarting the computer?
Any help appreciated.

Maybe browser processes are also protected by Avast’s self-defense. You can temporarily turn it off by, go to Settings => General => Troubleshooting => Uncheck self-defense. Then try to kill the browser, and re-enable self-defense.

If above does not work, then reboot would be only option.

Thanks for your reply. I can’t see any Troubleshooting section in my settings panel

It’s Avast Antivirus UI… I suppose you have Avast Antivirus (or AVG) installed, right?

Nope! just the avast browser
