Hi, I used pro for a few months. Always used suites. I missed a firewall with logs and windows firewall used to present me with a load of windows when WoW updated as it uses peer to peer.
In short windows firewall was not ideal. I noticed it didnt disable when I installed ais (I bought that too now) after a google search I found out it works with windows firewall, but I dont want windows firewall, I turned it off and disabled it in services.
I cannot find a definate answer to this, am I meant to keep windows firewall on? I really dont want to, I have a hardware one in my netgear 48o
Is it safe just to use avast firewall?
thanks.
If you do not use ipv6, you can safely disable Windows Firewall and use only AIS
hello, it says (lan) IPv4 connectivity - internet/ IPv6 connectivity - no network access/ media state-enabled/ speed 1.0 gbps.
so all good i guess!
thanks for the (very) fast reply.
isp say it should roll out in 2012, does this mean ais firewall will be insufficient?
You’re welcome stitt.
Sooo fast! I just added: isp say it should roll out in 2012, does this mean ais firewall will be insufficient?
Not following you. Can you elaborate?
My internet service provider say they are rolling out IPv6 in early 2012, if they do this is it wise to re enable windows firewall?
If until there avast 7 does not support it, yes, it will be better
many thanks for your help and knowledge.
You’re always welcome.
