I’m a newbie and just reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition. I’m using the avast 60 day trial but after looking into the website a little more, I’d appreciate it if someone could show me the differences between the free and professional edition. I have my laptop and I do alot of web surfing. I’m no pro but I want to understand what’s going on with my computer. Will the free edition be good enough? With the 60 day trial of the professional edition I have 57 days left. I’d like to find the pros and cons of the two.The pro is $39, I believe for the year right? Is there anyone that can help me? Please?
The difference is explained on avast’s website
A direct link is this one
I’ve checkesd out that page but it still doesn’t quite explain it in plain english. It shows what the pro has compared to the free home, I can see that, bt that’s still not saying much to me. Defining antivirus attack, working with task results, storing scan results. Those are the main differences, ut how important are they? I still need to understand. How much is the professional?
How important they are depend on what you want/need.
You can find out more about specific tasks/options if you use the search option on this webboard.
Or you read the manual.
Or you look it up at avast’s website
Or you can use Google
Or you can use a mixture of the above
Defining antivirus attack: the ‘protection’ of Pro and Home version are quite the same (on-access protection).
Working with task results: on the Professional version you can schedule scannings and ‘work’ with the results: repair files, send them to Chest, etc. Everything is customizable and automated (if you set so).
Storing scan results: Home version works only with the ‘last’ scanning.
Enhanced Interface, pushed updates are other differences…
Thank you for the information, now it’s more understandable. I appreciate the help.
