I usually check the !Avast firewall when I can and today when looking at the detailed view I found these two… Things. They aren’t registered as files and as far as I know I can’t get to them. Can someone explain what they might be or if they are malicious.

this is one of the reason why i like WinFirewall …
it does not give you lots of mysterious stuff that you need to be a network administrator to understand… and that you most likely dont need to worry about 
There are plenty ways to go around the Windows firewall.
plenty ways to og around any firewall if you work for Mossad / NSA / CIA … ;D
and what use do have of a firewall that is so Advanced that you dont understand didley of all the popup Messages ???
You can set up windows firewall with advance security to do anything other firewalls can do.
Except you must be tech savvy or do it in a very inconvenient interface…
