the little bugger is not spinning

Hi I have recently downloaded avast 4 for my home computer and as of today the icon in the dottom tray has a litle red cross on it which I am presuming means it has stoped. I have tryed to restart it but it keeps saying it has an rpc error what do I do

Try a repair of Avast.
start > control panel > software > add/remove > Avast > change/repair

If that fails try:

  • Uninstall Avast using the uitl from the website.
  • Reboot.
  • Reinstall Avast.

Hi, if Eddy’s advice to do a repair (don’t uninstall/reinstall just yet) doesn’t work then could you say if you have altered anything on your 'puter ie. installed any new software?
