I update program, avast tell me to reboot
no new program version
no new engine and virus definitions
But I find ,the md5sum of the file “ashServ.dll” has changed
“ashServ.dll” was replaced by “ash1.tmp”
Is this a problem?(virus? error? )

Well it is normal for program elements to change on an update so it isn’t unusual that they would subsequently have a different md5.
Whilst changing these files in a live program update would no doubt require the making of a temporary file whilst it is done just in case.
Personally an an avast user I don’t see this as a problem as avast also has its self-defence module to help prevent infection.
Where is this ash1.tmp file located ?
Have you rebooted after the program update ?
thanks
ALL is ok
after reboot
the md5sum of the file “ashServ.dll” is ok
You’re welcome.
