The new forum theme

+1.

It really hurts the eyes.

This dark orange is gosh awful.

Hi -midnight,

I guess you’d never buy a vase in that colour for your side-board at home.

So it seems that we all kind of agree where that miserable colour is concerned.
Maybe they did it so the paint would be unguessable ;D

There is one positive thing about all of this, in online users the Avast Team Member names are better set out (somewhat darker),
maybe that was the reason behind it.

pol

There is always the old core theme 8)

How many votes do I get?

A single vote.

Put on sunglasses.

Is avast gonna pay for them ?

Ask Avast. I’m not.

Anyway, I would suggest we have (at least) two forum colors schemes.
One is white + orange. Other could be purple/violet + orange as approved colors: https://blog.avast.com/the-new-avast-brand-the-story-behind-the-amoeba-and-more

It must be because of the sun glasses you are wearing.

I missed out on this topic as it happened at the start of my two weeks with no internet.

But when I got my internet back, I went looking at my profile settings to see if there wasn’t the old theme available. This one it too damn fierce.

I prefer darker backgrounds.

I prefer darker backgrounds also, the Strong orange bands against the extremely bright background of the forum gives me sore eyes after an hour or so here :frowning:

For many dark backgrounds with light (white) text is not great for contrast or sharpness.

Complementary colors (e.g. black/white) are great for contrast, but not for readability.

But people should first make sure the settings on their monitor/tv are as they should be.
Almost no monitor comes with the correct settings when it comes to brightness/contrast etc.

Here is a little tool that can be used : http://www.ache.nl/cgi-bin/download.pl?file=mon_test.zip

No more sunglasses. My eyes have gotten accustomed to the scheme.

Time for normal glasses Bob ;D

Without them I’d n o longer be posting…
