The Opera Piggyback Thing

This is regarding the capability whereby Opera can open up websites via Firefox, IE and AOL. So, if I were to open up a series of websites from Opera, but via Firefox, IE or AOL … would the Cookies and Cache Files end up in Opera … or in the respective alternate Piggyback Browser?

They end up in the other browser’s cache/cookies, just as you would expect. When you open a page in IE, by right clicking on it and choosing (say) Open in IE, it just opens that browser and tells it to open the page. IE, Firefox or whatever have no access to Opera’s cookies or cache, they are totally independent.

I have just done this with this page and indeed my IE cache now has Avast things in my IE cache.

Not sure really why this is a useful feature and I have never used it myself. I browse 100% with Opera and never have need to use any other browser. But I guess some people find it useful.

Thanks for actually diving into that experiment and confirming, verifying things. You didn’t have to, but it’s done. So, it’s appreciated.

It’s supposed to be for IF and when, in this Opera, cannot open up a website properly /entirely, one has the option and capability of at the Right Click of a Mouse Button … try opening up the website with the alternate Browsers.
