The Pop-up scanner starts every 5 minutes

I have Avast Premium Security level 25.8.10387.948. After PC start-up the scanner starts every 5 minutes. I let it finish, but do not start any free-trials of additional software so I close down the pop-up window. Then 5 minutes later it starts again. This is very frustrating. How do I stop this from occurring?

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.

It is hard to say, not knowing your Avast Settings relating to Scans.
Check your Smart Scan settings and I would suggest setting it to Manual.

I have just applied the most recent level of maintenance and will monitor for a while. I will make the suggested change if this problem continues.
