The "Splash" Task Install Blues

THis might be a rookie question but what is the workaround for the error messages and not running issues with the XP install of this product. When i try to start the installed app i get fault messages about database and “splash” task.

Cant change setting under “custom” as the ap is not running.

Could not find active solution on the groups.

Windows XP works fine with Avast and there is no need for “workarounds”
There apparently is something wrong with the installation.

Firstly, I would run the Avast Repair which you can access by going to Control Panel, Add/Remove and clicking on Avast. Use the option to Repair.

Reboot computer and try again.

Please let me know exactly what the error messages state and include any pathway shown.

Use my avast! External Control and select Change Database Storage Method function and switch it to XML. Very simple :slight_smile:
