Hi malware fighters and privacy seekers,
Because of AOL’s leaked search information AOL a Firefox user developed a privacy plug-in to project the privacy of users of the Internet. TrackMeNot runs in the background and on a regular basis sends out search request to popular search engines like AOL, Yahoo!, Google, and MSN, whereas the real search requests of the user are enveloped as in a “cloud of unrecognizable fancy search requests”. This should make it more difficult to identify the user, the author of TrackMeNot thinks.
According to Bruce Schneier there are two things why the plug-in does not function.
Government can still track what you try to search through a search-engine.
Then the programer uses 1673 specific terms that are combines like: HIV, atomic, bomb, bible, bibles, bombing, bombs, boxes, choke, choked, chokes, choking, chain, crackers, empire, evil, erotics, erotices, fingers, knobs, kicking, harier, hamster, hairs, legal, letterbomb, letterbombs, mailbomb, mailbombing, mailbombs, rapes, raping, rape, raper, rapist, virgin, warez, warezes, whack, whacked, whacker, whacking, whackers, whacks, pistols
Schneier asks himself why terms “erotic rape,” “mailbombing bibles,” and “choking virgins” are your best pick and sensible to use. Then the plug-in is good for a random 60MB of fake information daily, so when everybody installs this we need a few extra milers.
Well not all the info is given here above is fair, this is an University Project. You can adopt your own query file, at least with all the query terms separated by a comma and plain (UTF-8) and one of Bruce Schneiers’ arguments can be dropped. So if you adopt it rightly can be an important tool to get back at the overpowering relentless (at)tacking of Big Brother & Co. Hope only few use it, and that other browsers do it as well, else the searchterm storer can filter the default out, and we are back where we started. So conclusion TrackMeNot Yes, but with your own query file. Everytime at startup you should install the file you want to run at that time, say for instance query file 1, 2 etc, because TMN starts with default, and by default is disabled.
And the argument of load. Well if you play streaming radio. What does that produce?
Enjoy,
