The war Avast vs Look'n'Stop is going on

Hello.

The whitelist rules of Look’n’Stop to allow Avast to access Internet and update were defeated by Avast building a new executable everytime… This was causing LnS to ask again for granting access everytime, boring…

But I had found a solution for that.

Now it is Avast that simply deletes the service program LnSSvc.exe with no way to exclude it >:( >:( >:( >:(
Just open the directory and the firewall is dead.

Has some other (LnS + Avast) User found a solution ?

I have been happy with Avast for long years, with Pro licenses, but it is becoming heavier and heavier, the GUI is becoming a toy for children with less and less control on the useful features…
This affair could be the divorce case. >:(

There looks to exist a malware named lnssvc.exe, but mine is the genuine service from the installer for LnS 2.06, old but good.
If Avast is able to do such mistakes, no more need for injecting malwares on your PC. The muggers just have to write one named as some system critical file, and Avast will take care of tearing down all the PCs :-X

Thanks for any idea.
A bit furious tonight.

If you think the detection is a false positive simply submit it to Avast.
If they agree, then they’ll fix the detection and your problem will be solved.

Good evening, and happy new year.

Thanks but I did not have a chance to do that: usually there was a window asking what to do with the file, with the option “report false positive” + join details.

In this case the file was deleted with no mercy, not even moved to quarantine, with only this information: “I deleted the file”, OK.

I’m looking for an idea to bring a copy of the file on the PC: as soon as it appears, plonk ! :o
