Hi malware fighters,

Remember the long thread about the Firefox hype and Firefox myths, while I write this inside a rather secure Flock browser with Stealther, NoScript, Distrust, FoxyProxy etc. to enhance the secure browser experience, and I am also involved in the Flock security contributions,
and while I have not seen our friend FwF for quite some time in these here forum quarters, I like to introduce a controversial link about the Mozilla based browser Firefox, go here:

Users are still not safe on the internet, and vigilance is still required. Anyone who doesn’t update Windows and run up-to-date antivirus software is extremely high-risk of getting into trouble. Even if they’re using Firefox
no one i guess is safe no matter what you try to do…someone is always lurking in the corner trying to outsmart you no matter what precautions you try and do :

polonus…i have used netscape browser since the heydays when it was the domiant browser and i hope it doesn’t have any issues as firefox and ie have-haven’t heard-any news on your end there :o 8)

and M2 i had to repost this-guess nobody chases girls anymore-they worry about chasing computer nerds around instead(no harmed meant to the computer nerds on this fourm-if any)

When are those fanboys gonna grow up and start doing something better with their free time instead of arguing about silly things like browsers? Doesn’t anybody chase girls around anymore? ;D ;D ;D

Hi M2,

I am not a fan of any particular browser at all(I have 4 different ones on my system). For some people this browser is better, for other another. If you are a searcher for instance, Opera could be your browser of choice. If you are a Web 2.0 adept, you might like Flock.

Most of the time I use Flock in the Pocketflock version, I think you would like it again to-day, if it was only for its Session Manager. It did not crash one time with me, but whenever they ask me to come to the dinner table, and I have to close down the video downloader in the middle of an interesting 2 hour video presentation, next time I fire up my Pocketflock, it starts exactly where I closed down, and asks me first if I like that.

You also know that I am a in-browser security activist, was the first to introduce DrWeb browser hyperlink scanner plug-in Flock. Now Flock eats every Mozilla type of add-on if you persist. UserAgent Switcher is also a good add-on, as is Stealther, but PocketFlock has this as by default (not to leave any trails on the host machine). I use Tamper data to see what my browser’s lingos to the outside. Sometimes I run TDI-monitor underneath or a sniffer and a packet analyzer, just to see what Fock babbles. Firefox has a close bond with Google, Flock has a close bond with Yahoo.

So you can imagine I like to analyze browser security, and I am strongly opposed to fanboy talk, and to websites that try to sell this pep talk indiscriminantly. I think a safe browser does not exist, it is my opinion that any browser can be tweaked to be made a bit more secure., that is all. And for the rest it is like with gloves, some fit better than others,

No real info about the author of the page Bob. From what i can see the page is pretty standard stuff: XHTML 1.0, Javascript , CSS , and there is a little flash movie(the firefox.exe memory consumption “simulation” just above the menu) it’s very simple look and design(i kinda like it).
The host for this page is ActiveServe. The page servers trace back to somewhere in Miami. The servers are running Microsoft IIS and the page is powered by ASP.NET. You think you know who made this page? I don’t know when i look at his myths page it’s totally different style of web design and the way the code is written in both pages it makes me believe it’s not the same person. What does Polonus think?

Hi M2 and Bob3160,

The site is more level-headed than the one you two were pointing at, allthough it is smelling of trolling as well. I am both opposed to the fanboys’ rethoric as well as half truths and demi-myths exposed on this site, and the one we think of but do not mention… Who the slyerfox author is I don’t know, know that those that link to the slyerfox site are banned by Digg, as the other controversial Firefox Myth site is also banned by many forum sites.

The FF memory related problems are a thing from the past,
but they return almost inevitably on these sites, as are bugs
that are long patched.

I recently experienced some problems trying to fire up FF with JAR50.DLL crashing because of a particular version of MacAfeeSiteAdvisor (21-22) installed. Sometimes you need to re-install FF to make this bug go away. Trying to figure out on dependency walker what in JAR50.DLL cause this incompatibility. I have to find out while the same configuration in Flock is much more stable.
