You did that?
And what did Microsoft say to you?
Have you found out anything new? At least windows update is working, managed to get updates yesterday (patch tuesday). Still get that warning, though.
Not yet, but as windows updates is working then it appears that the error is intermittent
To activate by using a direct connection
- Open Windows Activation by clicking the Start button, right-clicking Computer, clicking Properties, and then clicking Activate Windows now.
2.If Windows detects an Internet connection, click Activate Windows online now. Administrator permission required If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3.Type your Windows product key when prompted, click Next, and then follow the instructions.
And if it fails… See reply #11
Call Microsoft.
I have to correct something I wrote before. I Installed all windows updates that were offered yesterday. Some of update out of them (can not figure out which) is making my computer unstable and will not boot correctly. Windows startup cannot fix this so I have to restore to earlier system restore point. Then these updates are offered again and I am in loop.
Do not install the windows updates but run this tool instead
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=20858
already installed them yesterday… I am such a fool!
But after running that tool (have not yet run this tool), windows update will still offer february 2015 updates?
Should I just do a clean install of windows?
sigh
Did you even read the article in the link I gave you?
If so, why haven’t you followed the instructions?
Your problem could have been solved days ago!
sigh all you want, I have read the link article you provided and installed that update.
And why haven’t you called Microsoft to activate over the phone?
I called them february 6th, as mentioned earlier…
I can see no other way around this I am afraid, I have run all the usual tricks and they seem to have no effect
It seems that Asrock A-tuning and xfastram has been one cause of this problem, and it had somehow corrupted system files. I uninstalled a-tuning and disabled xfastram. Then ran ccleaner and ran sfc/scannow command again, this time it managed to fix something. Also ran chkdsk/r and it fixed something too. Have not seen these “windows not genuine” errors for some time now. I’ll keep monitoring the situation. Still have not installed newest windows updates.
Thank you for help and advice, essexboy.
That is the problem with windows, there are so many programmes out there that can cause conflicts
