This Function is only valid in Windows 32

First, thank you to AVAST! team for their effort. I am an IT consultant and always recommend AVAST! to my customers instead of the Norton Antivirus they receive with their new PC (everybody complains about MS monopoly. But how do you call the invasion of Norton with each PC one buys?)

On one of the scan, AVAST! comes with this error:

“Windows 32 Mode Trojano 035
[Tri] 55051_{E79c672B-1B4D-4B1E-B4C1-BB0E05707AFE}[E79C672B-1B4D41 File. This Function is only valid in Windows 32 Mode.”

And the file cannot be deleted, nor quarantine. The settings is Thorough Scan with Archive selected, on a Windows 98 OS.

I couldn’t find anything related to this on the search option on this forum.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

That’s certainly a very strange message… when exactly does it occur? When avast! detects the virus, the “virus found” dialog pops up and some action is selected? (if yes, what action?) Or, at some other ocassion?
