My apologies, but I have to step away from my computer for a few minutes. I’ll be back shortly.
I see that you have windows all in one repair, once you have merged the registry files could you run that and in the advanced section select :
Repair Winsock and DNS Cache
Under my Avatar is a globe
Press that and it will take you to my Skydrive
There you will find a Zip file with your name
Download that and extract the four registry files to the desktop
Right click each one and select Merge
Accept the warnings
Run the windows repair all in one fix
Now download a fresh Copy of Combofix and run that please
Download and Install Combofix
Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2
VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop
- IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here
[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
Notes:
- Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
- Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
- If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.
Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now
The second registry file legacy_mpssvc won’t merge. I get an ‘Error accessing the registry’ message.
I finally was able to run Combofix. Avast isn’t popping up anymore, so I guess on first appearances this virus has been removed. In any event, here is the Combofix log.
Here’s the second part of the Combofix log.
Avast is no longer detecting anything, but it just seems my computer is running slow. Maybe I’m being paranoid, but it seems to me there are some remnants of this virus still affecting my system. Any advice on whether or not there’s some software I need to scan for remnants of this virus would be much appreciated!
Still two oddballs to kill - lets see how it runs after this
- Close any open browsers.
- Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
- Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
File:: c:\windows\system32\drivers\fzwobwfr.sys c:\windows\system32\drivers\zdwpeujx.sysSave this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exeDriver::
fzwobwfr
zdwpeujx

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exeWhen finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt which I will require in your next reply.
Notes:
- Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
- Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
- If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.
I’m kind of new to Avast, and honestly I have no clue how to completely disable the program. Is it as simple as ‘right clicking’ on the Avast icon in the tray and disabling the shields control?
Yes select disable all untill reboot
Do not let avast sandbox or quarantine anything whilst Combofix is doing its thing
OK here is the new Combofix log file.
How is the computer behaving now ?
After restarting the computer, everything seems to be completely normal. I can’t thank you enough; nicely done!
Subject to no further problems
I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems
Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

Anyone can use ipconfig and check @ fbi.gov and manually enter the actual ip found in ipconfig using “Check Your DNS” and manually enter the ip address you have on that page. Should give peace of mind on this.
