I recently had a notification to update to 8.0.1482. When it installed it also SILENTLY installed Google Chrome WITHOUT ASKING which I then had to uninstall and clean out the junk that it left in the registry. I’m now already receiving notifications about 8.0.1483 but, as there seems to be no way to stop it installing Chrome I’ve had to disable program notifications to get rid of the nag screen.
Since installing 8.0.1482 I’m also getting constant nag screens from Avast Software Updater which there seems to be no way of disabling.
Does anyone know how to turn off Updater and stop Avast installing Chrome? If not this will likely be the final straw as far as I’m concerned and if this continues I’ll be saying goodbye and no thanks to Avast.
