Today i installed the demo on my windows 98 and it slowed it down.
I used it and got rid of a few viruses and uninstalled it to get my pc back to speed.
However, my pc still is going slow like when i installed this program.
What should I do?

avast! is not demo… there si avast! pro or avast! Home Edition which is freeware, not demo in any way…
Your computer can’t be slowed down especially if you uninstalled avast!
What do you think it is, that slows down your PC now when avast! is wiped out ?

I also noticed an increased use of resources when Avast! is “on” but not after uninstall.
Might it be that the removed viri shot down parts of your operating system ?
Try reinstall of windows, it should be possible with 98 without having to deinstall first.

Nevermind, my computers mouse died so that’s why I had delyed actions etc.
