This Should Not Have Happened

After installing the Windows updates on my husband’s Window’s 7 computer it automatically updated to the latest 2015 version of Avast. Had I wanted to update I would have done it manually. This makes me sooooooo mad. Why did it do this without asking which is how I had it set in the settings?

Can’t log into my account…says password is incorrect, tried to reset it but even that link doesn’t work.

I’m just about ready to uninstall Avast on both computers. >:(

No one knows why this happened?

Midnight, it is unreasonable to expect someone to answer in 30 minutes.

Second of all. Is there something wrong with clearing avast! off and downloading avast! 2014? What were your settings?

I'm just about ready to uninstall Avast on both computers.
Have we heard that before ...... but we know you will never do that ;)

Hi -midnight,

AV software gets more and more complicated and therefore things can go wrong sometimes.
Those are the things that happen in a world that never becomes a perfect world.
That should not be a reason to say goodbye to the av solution that has served you so well for all these years.
If you uninstall it, it will be for a short period I hope and then you gonna miss it and reinstall it again.
Well I send you some tulips from where I live online to make you feel a bit better

If I knew how to clear Avast and go back to Version 2014 I would do it on both mine and my husband’s computers. I had both computers set to ask when a new program was available.

Hi -midnight,

Pay attention with FileHippo downloads, because of this info: http://www.ghacks.net/2014/07/08/beware-filehippo-tests-adware-distributing-download-manager/

Hi -midnight,

Use the direct installer and read here why

I’ve taken down what I posed. FileHipppo uses files.avast.com, which means, everytime Avast! updates their site, the link auto leads to the newest version. Therefore, Filehippo is advertising 2014, but actually has 2015.

You can find old versions of Avast at:
http://www.oldversion.com/windows/avast-free-antivirus/
I’m quite happy with the latest version.
